Marta Cid Rascado

Marta Cid is a young and creative saxophonist currently focusing her artistic development on the world of chamber music. She began her musical path at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Vigo and the Banda Escola de Música de Beade. After graduating with the Professional Music Degree Award in 2021, she moved to Barcelona to study at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). Having completed her Bachelor’s degree there, she is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Performance of Classical and Contemporary Music under the guidance of Nacho Gascón and Mariano García. Her training has been further shaped by masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Claude Delangle, Nobuya Sugawa, Vincent David, Christian Wirth, Kennedy Moretti, Sae Lee, Miha Rogina, and Marie-Bernadette Charrier.

Her career has been distinguished by several awards, including first prize at the II Mestre Vide Performance Competition (2021) and second prize at the Juventudes Musicales "Ciudad de Ávila" (April 2025). In the field of chamber music, she was awarded first prize at the II International Chamber Music Competition of the Liceu Sax Festival with the "Inner Trio". She has also performed at prestigious events such as the Andorra Sax Fest and Intercentros Melómano. For her advanced specialization, she was recently awarded the AIE Scholarship in 2025.

An active performer on both the orchestral and chamber stages, she is a member of the Osimun Quartet (soprano saxophone) and the Inner Trio, and frequently collaborates with the "Kebyart Meets ESMUC Sax Ensemble". Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC), the Barcelona Municipal Band (Banda Municipal de Barcelona), and the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC), in addition to being a member of the Galician Symphonic Band (BSG) and the ESMUC Symphonic Band.
