“This young spanish quartet impresses with its beautiful ensemble sound. At times fiery, then tender and transparent. Like a blank canvas they let themselves be overwhelmed by the music” (Jury of Dutch Classical Talent)
Osimun Quartet, founded in 2022, is a young ensemble formed by four Spanish saxophonists who seek to develop and communicate their own artistic voice through chamber music. Based in Cologne, they study with José Luis Estellés while also pursuing a Master’s degree in Chamber Music with Patrick Jüdt in Bern, and further training in Maastricht.
Driven by their ambition and constant pursuit of artistic growth, the quartet joined the Netherlands String Quartet Academy (NSKA), where they benefit from the guidance of leading figures in the chamber music world, such as Quatuor Ébène and Eberhard Feltz, among others. They are also part of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), under the mentorship of Johannes Meissl and Patrick Jüdt.
Most recently, Osimun Quartet has been selected to participate in the 2025/26 seasons of Musethica.
Despite their youth, Osimun Quartet has already appeared in some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Bijloke in Ghent, Tauber Philharmonie in Germany, Solti Hall in Budapest, and the Palace of Culture in Târgu Mureș (Romania), among many other renowned halls.
The ensemble has also earned significant recognition in recent years, winning the First Prize at Juventudes Musicales de España 2025, the Erftclassics Award 2025, the First Prize at the Storioni Competition 2023, and the Second Prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. As finalists of the prestigious Dutch Classical Talent, they have been awarded a 15-concert tour across the Netherlands (January–February 2025).
Other notable achievements include support from the Dörken Stiftung (2023), as well as reaching the finals of renowned competitions such as the Grachten Festival Competition 2023 in Amsterdam, the Big Little Music Competition in Ghent, Classicspark, and the Music Awards Maastricht 2022.
They have also been granted scholarships from Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025). In 2025, they were selected for both AIEnruta Clásicos—which will take them on tour throughout Spain—and the MusaE project.
Committed to contemporary music, they collaborate with renowned and emerging composers such as Charlotte Bray and Arjan Linker, with whom they have created Nocturne, a piece for saxophone quartet and tape which they premiered on January 9th 2025 in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. They also expand their repertoire with their own transcriptions
In addition, while developing and evolving in the world of chamber music as performers, some of its members combine this work with teaching at various music conservatories in Germany.
Their upcoming Agenda includes several concerts in renamed music festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.
