This young spanish quartet impresses with its beautiful ensemble sound. At times fiery, then tender and transparent. Like a blank canvas they let themselves be overwhelmed by the music” (Jury of Dutch Classical Talent)

Osimun Quartet, founded in 2022, is a young Spanish saxophone ensemble committed to chamber music as a living dialogue. Formed by highly trained musicians, the quartet combines a deep respect for the classical tradition with a fearless openness to fragility and experimentation.

Approaching each work with both precision and vulnerability, Osimun seeks an honest and direct connection to the composer’s voice. The ensemble embraces repertoire risks, new works and arrangements, and maintains a genuine and intimate relationship with its audience, creating performances that feel both immediate and thoughtful.

Through constant collaboration with contemporary composers, Osimun continues to shape its artistic identity, bringing youthful vitality together with artistic maturity.

Driven by ambition and a continuous pursuit of artistic growth, the quartet is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chamber Music with Patrick Jüdt in Bern. They are also members of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), under the mentorship of Johannes Meissl and Patrick Jüdt, as well as the Netherlands String Quartet Academy (NSKA), where they receive guidance from leading figures in the chamber music world, including Quatuor Ébène and Eberhard Feltz.

Despite their youth, Osimun Quartet has already appeared in some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Bijloke in Ghent, Tauber Philharmonie in Germany, Solti Hall in Budapest, and the Palace of Culture in Târgu Mureș (Romania), among many other renowned halls.

The ensemble has received significant recognition in recent years. In 2025, they were awarded the First Prize at Juventudes Musicales de España and the Erftclassics Award, following earlier distinctions including the First Prize at the Storioni Competition 2023 and the Second Prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

As finalists of the prestigious Dutch Classical Talent, they were selected for a 15-concert tour across the Netherlands in 2025. Additional highlights include support from the Dörken Stiftung and finalist appearances at competitions such as the Grachten Festival Competition in Amsterdam and the Big Little Music Competition in Ghent.

The quartet has been granted scholarships from Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland for three consecutive years (2023–2025). In 2025, they were selected for both AIEnruta Clásicos, touring throughout Spain, and the MusaE project, and most recently for the 2025/26 seasons of Musethica.

Deeply committed to contemporary music, Osimun collaborates with both established and emerging composers, including Charlotte Bray, Arjan Linker and Robert Seara. Together with Linker, they created Nocturne for saxophone quartet and tape, premiered in January 2025 in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Alongside new commissions, the ensemble continuously expands its repertoire through its own transcriptions.

Several members combine their performing career with teaching at music institutions in Germany.

In the upcoming seasons, Osimun Quartet will appear at leading festivals and concert series in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain.
